A MAN has been charged with firearms offences after a motorcyclist was pursued by police along the M62.
Officers from Merseyside Police stopped a motorbike travelling eastbound between junctions 10 for Croft and 11 for Birchwood on Saturday evening at around 9pm.
Following a search of the rider, a firearm was recovered. The rider was then arrested and taken into custody for questioning.
Ashley Duggan, of Stanton Avenue in Salford, has now been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and possession of a firearm without a certificate.

The 32-year-old has also been charged with possession of ammunition, receiving stolen goods, driving without insurance and driving without a licence.
Duggan has been remanded in custody and will appear in court today, Wednesday.
