A CYCLIST was robbed of his bike after being attacked in a graveyard.

The victim was accosted by two men in the cemetery of Station Road in Great Sankey at around 3.45pm on Sunday, June 13.

He was assaulted and knocked off his electric bike, which one of the robbers rode off with – having also taken a bag containing money.

Cheshire Police’s enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

A force spokesman said: “At 4.42pm on Monday, June 14, police received a call reporting a robbery.

“The robbery is alleged to have taken place on Sunday, June 13, between 3.30pm and 4pm.

“Two men stopped the victim and asked about his bike.

“The victim was then assaulted by one of the men, which caused him to fall off his bike – the man then rode off with the victim's bike along with his bag containing money.

“Enquiries are ongoing and anyone who has any information is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101, quoting incident number IML1013204.”
