DARYL Powell's first two signings as Warrington Wolves head coach have been confirmed.

As has long been rumoured, second rower Oliver Holmes and versatile outside back Peter Mata'utia will be joining Powell in making the move from Castleford Tigers to The Halliwell Jones Stadium next year.

Holmes has signed a three-year deal until November 2024 while Mata'utia joins on a two-year contract.

It had been confirmed last week that both players would be leaving the Tigers at the end of the season having turned down offers to stay at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle.

Holmes, 28, is an England and England Knights international who has spent his entire senior career with Castleford to date having come through the club's academy.

Mata'utia, who can operate at centre, full-back or in the halves, joined the Tigers from Leigh Centurions partway through the 2018 season.

The 30-year-old Samoa international can also list NRL sides Newcastle Knights and St George Illawarra Dragons among his former clubs.
