FAMILY members will be bidding a final farewell to Chris Culleton this Friday.

The 83-year-old – known as the 'Longford Lover' to many – died on May 21 at Warrington Hospital.

His funeral will be held at Walton Lea Crematorium on Friday at 1pm.

Due to Covid restrictions, only immediate family can attend the funeral but a procession has been arranged so that well wishers can pay their respects by lining the streets.

The hearse will depart from the Chapel of Rest in Stockton Heath at 12.15pm.

It will then head south along London Road passing the Red Lion and Mulberry Tree pubs before heading past the London Bridge in the direction of Stretton where the family will be picked up.

The family are also happy for people to pay their respects outside the crematorium at 1pm as long as they follow government's coronavirus guidelines.

Chris will be remembered as the music man who brought the Rolling Stones to Parr Hall and as a very popular DJ at the Carlton Club.

But behind the scenes, the Dale Lane resident was also a devoted dad who was immensely proud of his son Ben’s achievements in the British Army.

He had three grandchildren and one great grandchild.

The family are also raising money for St Rocco's in Chris's memory here.
