A NEW retailer is planning to move onto a Warrington retail park.

Formula One Autotraders is looking to move into an empty unit on School Brow Retail park.

The site is already home to Farm Foods and is close to Sainsbury's near the town centre.

The firm would employ around six to 10 people should the move go ahead.

Plans have been submitted to Warrington Borough Council to convert the empty unit.

There would also be space for a separate business unit to locate at the back.

Planning documents state: "Formula One Autocentres is one of the largest independently-owned auto centre chains in the UK.

"The company is a family-run business and is committed to deliver the highest quality products and services combined with the most competitive prices.

"Formula One Autocentres currently boasts over 100 state-of-the-art auto centres located throughout the country, employing more than 720 people.

"The application proposal will provide an opportunity for a well established business to locate in Warrington.

"The unit is currently vacant and this proposal will bring it back into beneficial use, enabling two new occupiers to trade in an efficient and safe manner creating new employment opportunities."
