A CALL centre is set to be converted into a huge new warehouse.

The BT site on Europa Boulevard in Westbrook, which is in the process of moving to ‘state-of-the-art’ new premises in Birchwood, is the subject of an application for planning permission submitted to Warrington Borough Council.

These proposals include the partial demolition of the building, resulting in a 11,182sq ft unit.

A total of 474 car parking spaces will also be lost under the plans, with 150 remaining.

Submission documents stated: “The proposal is for the reuse of an existing building to form a warehouse space with adjacent two-storey office space.

“Demolition of the northern extension will reduce the building’s footprint.

“It is therefore considered that the proposed development is suitable within this context.

“The proposal is to redevelop an existing building on an existing employment site – the unit has been redesigned to maximise efficiency in accordance with end user requirements, building access, servicing and site circulation.”
