TWO people have been arrested on suspicion of assault after a man suffered serious injuries in Stockton Heath.
At 3.10pm on Friday, police received reports of an assault in Ackers Road.
Officers attended the scene and found a 46-year-old man with serious injuries to his upper body and leg.
He was assessed at the scene by paramedics and taken to hospital for treatment.
A 22-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman were arrested at the scene on suspicion of section 18 assault.
They are currently in custody being questioned by detectives.
DS Darren Reid said: “We are carrying out a number of enquiries to establish the circumstances of what has happened.
“It is believed there were a number of people in the area at the time of the incident, and I would urge anyone who witnessed what happened or has information which could be useful and has not already spoken to us to get in touch.
“The same goes for anyone who was driving in Ackers Road at the time and may have any dashcam footage which could assist our enquiries.
“Officers will remain in the area and anyone with any concerns is urged to speak to them.”
