SOME extra special guests are keen to meet visitors from Warrington when they land at Gulliver’s World later this month.

The Old Hall theme park will be welcoming Tiny and Small, the ‘out of this world’ characters from the hit TV show Clangers, for daily socially distanced appearances.

Popular with grown-ups and children alike, the series tells the story of a family who live on a blue planet in space.

Originally aired in 1969, the series was given a reboot by CBeebies in 2015 and was nominated in the 2018 BAFTA British Academy Children's Award for best pre-school animation.

The extra special guests will give opportunities for selfies and smiles – all from a safe distance.

Live appearances will start from May 29 in time for the spring bank holiday and continue right through the summer until September 1.

As Covid restrictions ease, there are also plans to introduce a unique Clangers-inspired show.

Dean Kimberley, director of guest services at Gulliver’s Theme Park Resorts, said: “We are so pleased to say the Clangers have safely landed here at Gulliver’s World once again to make daily appearances during theme park opening hours over the summer.

“The pair will greet their fans with air-hugs, high-fives, waves and dancing – all from a distance but still giving the opportunity for selfies and smiles all-round.

“Gulliver’s is a family-company, and we have always been about much more than rides – families come to us for an experience and to make memories.

“We are sure our young guests, and some of our older visitors too, will be delighted to see them.”
