A COUPLE of weeks ago in Yester Years, we shared the story of a Warrington police officer who stepped up to a new role 54 years ago.
A frantic husband was spotted running down the road, desperate for help.
Constable Kevin Pilling, from Warrington Police, was on duty when Mr Keating was looking for help after his wife went into labour at home.
PC Pilling helped deliver the baby girl who was said to be a healthy newborn.
His wife Rita said: "I was inundated with calls from the local media all that day.
"Kevin was on nights so he was asleep while I was being bombarded with calls and when I told him what had been happening he modestly said “I don’t know what all the fuss is about it’s all part of the job.”
