A COUPLE have been left devastated after thieves stole a van that they were converting into a campervan.
For the past three months, Hannah Duffield and Lauren Tully have been working to turn the Ford Transit into a ‘home away from home’ on wheels for camping trips.
This included installing a new touch screen radio and sound system, a fridge, a sink, a hob, a worktop, a bed and lights.
But the vehicle was stolen from the car park of Cherry Court, on Orchard Street near to the town centre, on Wednesday night.
Thousands of pounds worth of tools had also been left inside the van.
Hannah told the Warrington Guardian that they had been left ‘absolutely devastated’ following the theft.
A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “At 9.13am on Thursday, May 6, police were called to reports of a vehicle theft – the caller reported that a white Ford Transit van had been stolen from a car park at Cherry Court on Orchard Street.
“The incident is believed to have occurred sometime between 6pm on May 5 and 9am on May 6.
“Enquiries are ongoing, and anyone with any information is asked to call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number IML981156.”
