ONE of the world’s most luxurious trains is returning to Warrington for a trip to ‘Paradise’.

The Northern Belle, once part of the iconic Orient Express group, will be picking up passengers from Bank Quay station on Wednesday, June 9.

But there is a snag.

This Paradise is actually a little cobbled street in the east Yorkshire seaside resort of Scarborough.

A spokesman said: “Scarborough might not actually be Paradise. But it can be quite heavenly on a lovely summer day.

“After all, every proud Yorkshireman will tell you that it is in God’s own country.

“And locals boast you can get some of the best fish and chips and ice cream in the whole of Britain.”

Passengers will be served a welcome glass of champagne after they board the train at Bank Quay station at 8.35am and enjoy the height of luxury.

Then they will be tuck into a three-course brunch on the journey north.

They will have the choice of getting off when the train stops at York or continuing to the seaside.

Then after four hours to explore Scarborough, there will be a champagne reception back on the train.

And a five-course dinner with wine will be served on the journey home to finish the day in style.

A return ticket costs £315. The train will then be back in Warrington in November for a trip to Oxford, Blenheim Palace and Waddesdon Manor.
