WARRINGTON Hospital is on the verge of hitting two milestones in the town’s battle against coronavirus.
As of this afternoon, Thursday, the hospital is only one patient discharge away, after recovering from Covid-19, from reaching 2,000 since the start of the pandemic.
Sadly however, the Lovely Lane site is also one coronavirus death away from 500 during the same period.
Currently, the hospital is caring for 20 patients that have tested positive for Covid, of which two are in the intensive care unit.
This is a rise of four and one respectively since yesterday.

Despite this rise, two patients were discharged in the past 24 hours after beating the virus, while no coronavirus-related deaths were recorded in that time.
To date, Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has conducted 91,296 tests for Covid-19, with 5,435 returning positive.
