VOTING is under way in Warrington for the delayed all-out elections today, Thursday, to decide who will run the Town Hall for the next three years.
Every seat in the borough is up for grabs with voters able to choose up to three candidates to vote for, depending on where they live.
The elections will take place between 7am and 10pm.
There are 22 wards in Warrington. The council is composed of 58 councillors, who normally serve for a four-year term. Due to the delay with Covid, that is down to three years.
Labour currently has control of the Town Hall, with 43 seats on the council.
There are 11 Liberal Democrats, the opposition group, as well as one Tory and three independents.
Voters can also have their say on who they want as the next crime commissioner for Cheshire.
David Keane (Labour) won the last election and will take on John Dwyer (Conservative), Jo Conchie (LD) and Nick Goulding for the Reform party.
And in many areas of town, parish council elections will be held.
Results in all three elections will be declared on Saturday due to delays to keep the process Covid-secure.
