WARRINGTON Borough Council leader Cllr Russ Bowden has been urged to apologise after calling a resident a ‘total d*ck’ in WhatsApp messages that have been leaked.
In the messages, Labour’s Cllr Bowden also said Neil Black is ‘another particularly nasty Tory’.
The Glazebury resident says the ‘disgraceful’ WhatsApp conversation reached him via a Labour member, who is absolutely disgusted at the comments of a leader and candidate seeking election.
Mr Black added: “I am not a member of any political party but am an occasional leaflet deliverer.
“What I am though is a resident and taxpayer who is appalled to appear as a target of the current dirty campaign that you seem to be running with another party leader about leaked WhatsApp messages.”
Mr Black, who is calling for a public apology, said this is ‘totally unacceptable’ from those seeking election and that ‘public faces and inner thoughts’ are totally different things.
Cllr Bowden, who is seeking re-election in the Birchwood ward, has been asked for a comment.
