MORE than 160 knives have been handed in to Warrington Police as part a week-long campaign to reduce knife crime.
Cheshire Police's Operation Sceptre has been taking place across the county.
It has involved knife amnesties at supermarkets and shops, as well as knife sweeps and giving out lifesaving Bleeding Control Packs.
Taking to social media yesterday, Friday, Warrington Police wrote: "As part of our knife crime week we took our surrender bin from Sigma18 out on the road around Warrington to see if we could get more knives handed in this way.
"You never disappointed us, we have had so far 160 knives handed in."
Today, Saturday, the force added: "We will be at Riverside Retail Park tomorrow from 11am-1pm with the knife surrender bin.
Please bring down any unwanted knives for us to dispose of safely."
