A FLY-tipper who dumped waste including a metal bedframe has been fined hundreds of pounds.
Simon Dilorenzo left several bags of rubbish behind a storage container on Woodvale Close in Padgate in July last year, only metres away from his home.
The 48-year-old, of Sealand Close, admitted fly-tipping at Warrington Magistrates Court on Wednesday, April 21, following an investigation by Warrington Borough Council’s environmental crime team.
He had failed to attend two previous court hearing.
Dilorenzo was fined £500 and ordered to pay costs of £500 plus a £30 victim surcharge.
Council chief executive Steven Broomhead MBE said: “Unfortunately, we have seen an increase in fly-tipping during the pandemic.
“Residents should not have to foot the bill to clear public areas due to the selfish acts of a minority of people who illegally dump waste.
“Warrington residents are tired of the hazardous actions of these individuals and are increasingly willing to come forward and assist us with investigations by providing information.
“When fly tipping is reported, we pursue the offenders vigorously where we have evidence and seek to prosecute them.”
