MORRISONS in Warrington is set to open a newly furnished outdoor seating area to allow people to use the cafe under Covid rules.

For several months, takeaways have been the only option for customers.

Now shoppers visiting the Greenall's Avenue supermarket can stop for the likes of a cooked breakfast, fish and chips, afternoon tea and sandwiches.

A new ‘order and pay’ app has also been introduced so you can do everything from your table to help maintain social distancing.

Tills will still be available for people who prefer to order and pay that way.

Warrington is one of 107 Morrisons cafes opening an outdoor eating and drinking area. The remaining cafes will continue their takeaway offer.

Ali Lyons, head of cafés at Morrisons said: “We’re really looking forward to welcoming our customers back and have invested in our cafes to ensure everyone feels safe and has the best experience possible.

"Our new ‘order and pay’ app will make it easier than ever to order from your table and also means that customers looking to pick up a takeaway can book a time that suits them.”
