THE number of patients being cared for at Warrington Hospital after contracting coronavirus is at its lowest point since October.

Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has confirmed this afternoon, Thursday, that patient numbers have fallen once again.

At present, the Lovely Lane site is caring for 38 people that have tested positive for the virus, of which five are in intensive care.

More good news comes in the form of there being no Covid-19 deaths in the past 24 hours, with the trust’s virus death toll remaining at 492.

A further four patients have been discharged from the hospital after recovering from coronavirus, bringing the discharge total since the start of the pandemic to 1,937.

To date, the trust has conducted 79,404 Covid tests, with 5,333 returning positive.
