A LATE night 40-mile pursuit on the M6, brought together several police forces to stop an Audi caught travelling in excess of 150mph.
The incident began when a vehicle was spotted being driven at more than twice the national speed limit at junction 23 at Haydock.
When challenged by officers, the Audi RS5 failed to stop and the high speed pursuit continued down the motorway southbound towards Cheshire.

Armed police, the National Police Air Service and the Central Motorway Police Group were involved in the pursuit.
Police officers from the Greater Manchester and Merseyside forces also joined the pursuit and a stinger was eventually deployed in an attempt to stop the car.
The vehicle was eventually brought to a stop when it was boxed in close to junction 17 at Sandbach.
Four men were inside the Audi and they were arrested on suspicion of theft, failing to stop and dangerous driving.
