WARRINGTON residents are invited to join a climate change event with the town’s MPs Andy Carter and Charlotte Nichols.

The event takes place on Thursday April 15 between 5.30pm and 7pm.

National climate charity Hope for the Future have partnered with Warrington CEE Bill Alliance to bring together people and political representatives for a free virtual event focused on platforming voices in the area to discuss concerns about climate change and how the problem will be tackled by the Warrington community.

The event will bring together a range of voices from across the town to share their stories on climate change.

Speakers to feature include Warrington residents from the NHS, the nature conservation, education and business, as well as Tory Mr Carter and Labour’s Ms Nichols.

Attendees don’t need to have any prior knowledge of climate change.

Co-organiser Warrington CEE Bill Alliance says: “We are hoping to start an open dialogue about climate change across the community in Warrington and to help our MPs understand local people’s concerns and hopes for climate action.

“If we are going to raise the profile of climate issues in local communities, we need more public involvement in climate action, and for our politicians to listen to local people’s concerns. We’re really looking forward to hearing real, honest stories from people who live and work in Warrington.”

Hope for the Future added: “We’re so excited to be supporting the group to organise this unique and timely event, we need a more diverse range of voices in the climate movement, and I can’t wait to hear from our local speakers in Warrington.”
