A MOTORIST fled the scene of a crash on a main road this morning.
Cheshire Police received reports of the collision on Manchester Road, near to Kalgarth Grange Day Nursery and Preschool in Paddington, at around 10.15am today, Tuesday.
Two cars, a blue Vauxhall Astra and a red Land Rover, were involved in the accident.
Officers attended the incident and discovered that the driver of the former car had left the area.
But a 41-year-old man has since been arrested in connection with the crash and remains in custody assisting police with their enquiries.
A force spokesman said: “At 10.14am on Tuesday, April 6, police were called to reports of a collision on Manchester Road.
“Officers attended the scene and found there had been a collision between a blue Vauxhall Astra and a red Land Rover.
“The driver of the Astra had left the scene.
“A 41-year-old man has since been arrested in relation to the incident – he is currently assisting officers with their enquiries.”
