POLICE caught a motorist travelling in excess of 100 miles per hour on a motorway in Warrington this morning, Sunday.

North West Motorway Police stopped the driver of a Mercedes-Benz after leaving the M62.

The man was followed by officers and was clocked reaching speeds of 110mph.

He is set to appear in court at a later date.

In a tweet, North West Motorway Police said: “MO21 stopped this Mercedes on the M62 at Warrington, having followed it travelling at 110mph.

“Its male driver was reported for summons.”
