A Bewsey dad will be getting on his bike next month to clock up the miles and the pounds for a cancer charity.
John Roberts is hoping to cycle 100 miles as part of Prostate Cancer UK’s cycle the month campaign in May.
The 33-year-old will do a 10-mile round trip to work at KFC in Latchford every day and will be joined by his eldest daughter Amelia, who is nine, after school and at weekends.
John, who is also dad to four-year-old Ella, doesn’t usually do any exercise but is hoping to cycle further than the 100-mile target.
He said: “Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the UK, killing 11,500 men a year.
“That’s one dad, partner, son, brother, grandad, uncle or mate every 45 minutes.
“But it doesn't have to be this way.
“I'm raising money to help fund lifesaving research for men and their families affected by the disease.”
So far John has managed to raise £195 of his £500 target and you can make a donation by visiting https://cyclethemonth.prostatecanceruk.org/fundraising/cycle-100-miles-for-prostate-cancer-uk
