OVER the past few weeks, we have been delving into our archives to bring you some interesting pictures from days gone by.
This week, we are looking at the changing face of Warrington town centre.
From the building of Golden Square to the evolution of Warrington Market, much has changed.
Forty years ago, you could still drive along Bridge Street.
Here are some of our favourite pictures of an evolving few decades.
The old fish market in the 1970s
The 1970s also saw huge changes as Golden Square was built
And the next biggest change came in the early 2000s.
The bus station and Legh Street car park were demolished to allow for the redevelopment and expansion of Golden Square.
And in more recent times, it was Time Square and the old B&M that were demolished in 2015 to make way for the new market and cinema.
