THE clear and straightforward nature of coronavirus testing at a Warrington college has been praised by students.

Staff and students have been welcomed back to Warrington and Vale Royal College over the past week, aided by the roll-out of a mass Covid-19 testing programme.

The return of students has been meticulously planned over several weeks, with the installation of a dedicated test centre and college-wide staff training.

College staff wear full personal protective equipment while testing students, each of which have been given a designated time slot to come into college for their test.

Students have been fully cooperative with the testing programme and many have commented on how well organised the test centre is.

Elena Rigby, a health and social care student, expressed her excitement about returning to college, adding: “I really enjoy coming here every day.”

Nichola Newton, college principal and chief executive, says she is pleased with the success of the testing programme so far and its ability to allow a safe return for students.

She said: “Mass testing has gone very smoothly, and the testing staff have worked incredibly hard to ensure the safe return of our students.

“We are delighted to be welcoming the students back and resuming face-to-face teaching.”
