WHILE most areas of Warrington have seen their coronavirus infection rates fall over the past week, this is not the case everywhere.

Eight areas of Warrington have seen their case rates rise – although it should be said that the rises recorded are not significant enough to cause great concern.

The worst hit areas saw case totals increase by no more than five.

The general picture across the town is that weekly case totals are falling, with this being particularly evident in south Warrington, where in some areas cases are virtually non-existent.

We know this thanks to an interactive map published on the Government’s online coronavirus dashboard.

At the time of writing, the map displayed the number and rate of new cases in each area of Warrington in the seven days up to February 27.

Central Warrington had the highest number with 25 new cases, followed by Hulme (21) and Bewsey and Dallam (20).

Here is the list in full, reading: number of new cases (rate of new cases per 100,000 people and change in case numbers from the previous week).
