MORE than 500 people have now died in Warrington with Covid-19 named as the cause on their death certificate.
This is according to the latest data issued by the Office for National Statistics and published on the Government’s online coronavirus dashboard.
It states that there have been 514 deaths in the town as a result of the contraction of the virus.
This is based on death certificates registered up to February 12, and the deaths are allocated to the deceased's usual area of residence.
Meanwhile, figures released today, Tuesday, show that the number of patients being cared for at Warrington Hospital for coronavirus is falling.
As of this afternoon, the Lovely Lane site is providing care to 124 patients that have tested positive for Covid-19, with 13 in intensive care.

Since yesterday, a further 14 patients have been discharged after recovering from the virus, taking the discharge total since the start of the pandemic to 1,728.
Sadly however, one more death has been recorded, bringing the virus death toll at Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to 461.
To date, the trust has conducted 64,400 tests for Covid-19, with 5,010 returning positive.
