THERE are unlikely to be any more new recruits at Warrington Wolves before the 2021 season starts.

However, head coach Steve Price did not rule out making more signings once the Super League campaign had kicked off.

The Wire did business early, with all three of their new additions being confirmed before the turn of the year.

News of Australian great Greg Inglis coming out of retirement to join them on a one-year deal was confirmed back in May while the signings of England Knights props Rob Butler and Robbie Mulhern were confirmed in November and December respectively.

Three of last season’s first-team squad members have departed – second rower Ben Murdoch-Masila, centre Anthony Gelling and half-back Declan Patton.

As it stands, Price has six players currently on his overseas quota – Inglis, Blake Austin, Jason Clark, Jake Mamo, Leilani Latu and Sitaleki Akauola – meaning there is one spot available should the opportunity come up to recruit from outside the English player market.

Despite this, it appears The Wire will kick off the season in March with the squad currently at Price’s disposal, with the head coach saying he has “all bases covered.”

“I’m happy with the squad at the minute,” he said.

“We feel as coaches that we’ve got all bases covered and all our positions are filled. At the moment, we’re in a really good place in that respect.

“We’ll kick off the season, get some matches under our belt then we’ll see where we’re at.”
