LIVERPOOL Road has been closed by flooding this afternoon.
The route is shut in both directions at present due to waterlogging near Sankey Bridges Industrial Estate.
Motorists are warned to avoid the area as a result.
Other routes affected by flooding today include Hawleys Lane in Dallam and Alder Lane and Gorsey Lane in Burtonwood.

A flood warning has been issued by the government in Dallam, with Sankey Brook expected to be affected by Storm Christoph over the next 24 hours.
Meanwhile, a flood alert remains in place in areas including Orford, Great Sankey, Sankey Bridges, Burtonwood, Callands and Lingley Green.
