A FURTHER three coronavirus-positive patients have sadly died at Warrington Hospital in the past 24 hours.
The news was confirmed by Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in its daily Covid-19 update and bring the trust’s virus death toll up to 345.
As of this afternoon, Thursday, the Lovely Lane site is caring for 198 patients that have tested positive for the virus, of which 26 are in the hospital’s intensive care unit.
Since the start of the pandemic, a total of 52,302 tests have been conducted for coronavirus, with 3,930 returning positive.

An additional 20 patients have been discharged however since yesterday after recovering from Covid-19.
This brings the virus discharge total to date to 1,229.
