A HOSPITAL volunteer has been honoured with the British Citizen Award.
Darrell Babington, from Woolston, has helped to keep services at Wythenshaw Hospital running throughout the coronavirus pandemic on behalf of his employer Sodexo – with whom who usually works in electrical maintenance at AstraZeneca in Macclesfield.
And the 44-year-old, a member of the Woolston Lions, awarded the certificate of honour and medal at the British Citizen Awards last month.
Proud dad Tony said: "He is a selfless and kind individual who puts his community and people first."
