A FORMER professional TV dancer has been drafted in by a Warrington primary school to keep people active during lockdown.

Robin Windsor, a Latin and ballroom dancer who starred in BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, will be running an online dance class later this month.

He answered the call of Callands Community Primary School, which is hoping to encourage people of all ages and abilities to try something new and stay fit.

The class will also raise vital funds for the Friends of Callands School (FOCS) charity and Make A Difference Trust.

“In addition to helping to raise funds for our charity and MAD Trust, we are hoping it will encourage people of all ages and abilities to try something new this month and motivate people to stay fit and active during this lockdown,” said FOCS fundraiser Hannah Swindells.

“As a school fundraising charity, we have had to cancel many of our usual events in order to adhere with Covid regulations and precautions.

“We have had to think of alternative ways to help support our fantastic community primary school during these difficult times.

“We contacted Robin and he has kindly donated his time and skills to help support our cause.

“We would love for this event to be a huge success and raise lots of money for both our charity and the MAD Trust.”

The one-off, family-friendly dance class will be held online on Saturday, January 23 at 11am.

It will be open to all ages and abilities and the class will last approximately 45 minutes.

All money raised will be split evenly between the two charities.
