Pasha Lounge introduces winter huts and enhanced beer garden

Now the team behind Pasha Lounge have expanded and improved their outdoor space to make it easier for family groups and their support bubbles to have an evening out while still feeling safe.

The Buttermarket Street bar has introduced four more enclosed winter huts to its beer garden which are suitable for single households only.

Altogether there are now eight pods at Pasha Lounge as well as 10 benches which can be used by friends from different households as long as they follow the rule of six.

Half the benches are under a gazebo and there are patio heaters to make winter al fresco dining from the bar’s tapas menu much more comfortable.

Pasha Lounge opened in July but had to close during the second lockdown.

Owner Halil Ayaz decided to make the most of the downtime with the improvements.

Manager Denise Dearing said: “Over a two-week period during the second lockdown we had all the garden renovated and had the pods installed so it was nice and new for opening again. They’re like wooden Christmas huts.”

Halil added: “Inside, the pods are lit up with coloured lights and they each have a heating system. They also have speakers for the music and USB sockets.”

Operating primarily as a late bar, Pasha Lounge has obviously faced a lot of challenges to changing rules and restrictions this year.

“Denise said: “We opened in July as a late bar. It was very popular but then the 10pm curfew came in which did affect us.

“Since then we’ve been trying to think of new things to encourage people and thankfully we’ve been inundated since we introduced the new huts. Visitors have been loving them.

“A lot of people are still a little bit apprehensive about going out.

“Having the pods is great because people can come in their households and bubbles and they don’t really have to mix with other people.

“They feel safe and secure and the pods are cleaned and sanitised after each use.

“They can sit on their own but still have the experience of going out."
