AN imitation firearm was seized during a raid in the town centre yesterday afternoon.

Police executed a search warrant at an address on Cairo Street on Thursday, December 3, and arrested four men.

Class A and B drugs and other weapons were also discovered by officers.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of cannabis with intent to supply, conspiracy to supply cocaine and possession of a firearm but has since been released on conditional bail.

Two suspects aged 26 and 44 were held on suspicion of possession of cannabis with intent to supply and were later released under investigation.

And a 37-year-old who was arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis with intent to supply, being concerned in the supply of class A drugs, possession of an offensive weapon and possession of an imitation firearm has also been released under investigation.

A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “On Thursday 3 December officers arrested four men aged 17, 26, 37 and 44 were arrested at an address.

“The 26-year-old and 44-year-old were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cannabis.

“They have both been released under investigation.

“The 17-year-old was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cannabis, conspiracy to supply cocaine and possession of a firearm and has been released on conditional bail.

“The 37-year-old was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cannabis, being concerned in the supply of class A drugs, possession of an offensive weapon and possession of an imitation firearm.

“He has been released under investigation.

“Officers seized drugs and a firearm from the property.”
