WARRINGTONIANS have gone the extra mile to make their town look festive this year.

A second coronavirus lockdown has failed to dampen Christmas spirit, with neighbours banding together to create incredible large-scale outdoor displays.

Our photographer Dave Gillespie toured the town earlier this week to capture the scenes on Warrington’s best decorated streets.

Here are some of our favourites:

Hill Top Road, Woolston

Warrington Guardian:

Hill Top Road in Woolston has even seen minor traffic jams on some evenings due to the number of visitors who have got wind of illuminations which are worthy of Blackpool.

Warrington Guardian:

Carrington Park

The Carrington Park estate is a classy affair, with a sea of simple lights adorning the trees lining Monks Place.

Warrington Guardian:

Rylock Close, Orford

Homes on nearby Rylock Close in Orford have been dressed up like Christmas presents this year, and they're quite a sight.

Warrington Guardian:

Powder Mill Road, Latchford

This cute snowman is standing proud on Powder Mill Road in Latchford.

Chapelford

Warrington Guardian:

Chapelford is making a case to be the town’s most festive area, with streets including Baltimore Gardens, Orlando Drive, Charlotte Grove and California Close awash with light.
