RATHER than simply recycling your old copies of the Warrington Guardian or other newspapers after reading them, you could put them to a valuable use.
Padgate-based Cats Protection Warrington Adoption Centre is in need of old newspaper pages to help litter-train its animals.
The charity is currently running low on old newspapers, which it uses to line litter-training trays, and is asking people to help out.
On Facebook, Cats Protection Warrington said: “We do use newspapers to line the litter tray, but we are running low and need some more. Could you make our day?
“It doesn't matter if you've done the crosswords and read it page to page, as by the time the cats are using it, they barely read the date.
“If you have some lying around, we'll gladly take them off your hands.”
If you are able to help, the charity is asking that newspapers be left outside its entrance on Elizabeth Drive.
