PUPILS at St Gregory's Catholic High School have taken part in an exciting and educational Anti-Bullying Week.

The school community came together by delivering special lessons planned by the school's Anti-Bullying Team, designing hoodies, writing poems and creating anti-bullying posters which are now on display.

Wendy Dolphin from St Gregory's explained:"'All In This Together' is our school slogan for this year's Anti-Bullying Week which suits perfectly the current nationwide climate for us all and, as we belong to the St Gregory's Community, we have a responsibility to take care of each other whatever challenges we face.

"Anti-Bullying is simple - it is showing each other respect at all times and basically treating people like you would wish to be treated.

"Anti-Bullying for St Gregory’s is not just a week of events and an annual raising of awareness, it is a way of life and is why we have built in the symbolic idea of 'The Positive Footprint'.

"Every day, everyone has an opportunity to be the best version of themselves, no matter what has happened the previous day or week.

"We focus on how we would like to be remembered when we are leaving school, going to college, applying for a job.

"Each day creates an opportunity for us to improve our footprint by learning from mistakes."

This year, the school has even launched a 'Positive Footprint' award where all members of the school community will be invited to nominate someone who has, or is, leaving a positive footprint.

Wendy added: "For our messages of respect, care and compassion, we have always involved our primary partners, knowing that together we can definitely make a lasting difference.

"This year has been tricky but restrictions have not got in our way so, instead of visiting primary schools in person, our children and staff have prepared workshops that will be available to schools from next week."
