TWO more patients have died at Warrington Hospital after testing positive for Covid-19.

This brings Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust’s coronavirus death toll to 247.

As of this afternoon, Wednesday, there are 150 inpatients with the virus at the Lovely Lane site.

Seventeen of these are currently in intensive care.

Since the start of the pandemic, 823 coronavirus patients have been discharged from the hospital after receiving treatment.

So far, WHH has carried out 39,494 Covid-19 tests – with 2,767 showing a positive result.

The latest figures from Public Health England show that Warrington now has the 133rd highest rate of new cases – with 433 recorded in the seven days leading up to November 20, 206.2 for every 100,000 residents.

Comparatively, there were 619 new cases in the seven-day period before November 13 – or 294.7 per 100,000.
