WARRINGTON now has the 125th highest rate of new coronavirus cases of any local authority in the country.

The latest Public Health England figures, for the seven days leading up to November 19, showed a total of 468 Covid-19 infections in the town – or 222.8 for every 100,000 residents.

Comparatively, there were 660 positive tests in Warrington for the same period leading up to November 12 – 314.3 per 100,000.

Across the country, 249 of 315 areas have seen a fall in the rate of new transmissions.

Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust recorded another six coronavirus deaths over the weekend, bringing the number of patients who have died after testing positive for Covid-19 to 244.

As of Monday afternoon, 152 people were receiving treatment for the virus at Warrington Hospital – 16 of which were in intensive care.

Since the start of the pandemic, 807 inpatients who had caught coronavirus have been discharged from the Lovely Lane site.
