A LORRY full of waste has been dumped underneath the Mersey Gateway bridge.
It is believed that the huge pile of rubbish was discarded on the Runcorn side of the river crossing in Astmoor, near to Wigg Island, last week.
One resident described it as the ‘worst case of fly tipping he had ever seen’, adding: “It’s a massive eyesore, and they have even dumped the container.”
Dozens of bin bags filled with refuse remain at the scene.
A Halton Borough Council spokesman said that the authorities were aware of the issue and were investigating.
