POLICE have renewed their plea for information from members of the public after two cars were overturned by vandals on ‘Mischief Night’.

A small white car was tipped over on Minnesota Drive in Chapelford at around 7.30pm on October 30, before a Ford Fiesta was targeted on nearby Jamestown Avenue.

While a 17-year-old boy was questioned by officers after voluntarily attending Warrington Police Station, he was released without charge and no arrests have been made in connection with the incidents.

Now – exactly three weeks on – Cheshire Police have issued a further plea for witnesses to come forward, with enquiries ‘ongoing’.

Sergeant Upile Mtitimila said: “Anyone would be angry and upset to discover that their parked car had been overturned in the street.

“Such criminal damage incidents are completely unacceptable, and we are determined to discover who overturned the cars and make them face the consequences of their actions.

“Enquiries in relation to the incidents are continuing and I urge anyone with any information or footage that may aid our endeavours to establish who overturned the cars to come forward.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact the force on 101, quoting incident number IML840131, or to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
