A FORMER sewing shop in Orford could be converted into a restaurant.
An application for planning permission has been submitted to Warrington Borough Council in order to convert the currently vacant unit on Orford Lane, which was previously home to garment alteration workshop Stitches, into an eateries.
Urban Property Rentals Ltd’s submission states that the premises would be open from 12pm to 10.30pm daily.
But Cllr Tony Higgins has lodged a formal objection to the proposal due to the number of existing takeaways in the area.
WBC’s executive board member for leisure and community also raised concerns over a potential increase in traffic, noise, litter and anti-social behaviour – as well as a lack of parking.
