PLANS to create a deli-style cafe in Leigh have been submitted.

A prior notification application seeking permission for a proposed change of use of 3 Vernon Street, Leigh to a deli-style cafe and takeaway has been submitted by Helen-Louise Winstanley.

The plans include having new internal roller shutters and alterations to the external elevations.

The application states: "Existing use is classed as hairdressers and the use is to be changed to cafe/takeaway serving hot and cold food in a deli style."

There would be "a new extract for kitchen to be ducted through flat roof above kitchen area".

It would be "rendered externally with new signage" and a "new door to side leading into existing underpass".

The application adds: "Currently there is a beauty parlour within the neighbouring plot which if it was used in it's current use would cause direct competition which could close one of the businesses.

"The client is keen to have a unique cafe/takeaway selling deli style plates along with vegan home cooked goods".
