HERE are five cases which have been heard recently at Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens Magistrates' Court or Merseyside Youth Court.

- A FIFTEEN-YEAR-OLD boy from Whiston who was convicted of causing actual bodily harm over an assault has been referred to a youth offender panel.

The teenager, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, was convicted of assault occasioning actual bodily harm in relation to an assault on January 22 this year.

He was referred to a youth offender panel for six months, made to pay £21 to victim services and £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.

- A MAN charged with supplying cannabis will next appear at a Crown Court.

Joseph Michael Knockton, of Braithwaite Close, Rainhill is charged with supplying the Class B drug on December 16, 2019 on Legh Road, Haydock.

Knockton, 24, will next appear at Liverpool Crown Court on November 6 and has been given unconditional bail.

- A WOMAN has denied charges of assault and criminal damage.

Joanne Battersby, of Common Road, Newton-le-Willows, has been charged with an assault on a man on May 27 this year.

Battersby, 47, is also charged with damaging a black Ulefone to the value of £80 belonging to the man.

She pleaded not not guilty and will appear back at the court for trial on February 15, 2021. She was given conditional bail.

- A THIEF has been given a tag and ordered to pay compensation.

John Barry Rolt, of Legh Street, Newton-le-Willows stole seven boxes of chocolate to the value of £35 from Asda on Piele Road, Haydock.

Rolt, 29, was given a community order and was given an electronic curfew for 28 days.

He must also pay £35 compensation and £85 in costs to the CPS.

- A MAN charged with dealing cannabis will be sentenced at Liverpool Crown Court.

Stephen Makin, of Edge Street, Thatto Heath indicated a guilty plea to possession of the Class B drug with intent to supply on March 3 this year.

Makin, 35, will be sentenced at Liverpool Crown Court on November 6.

He was given unconditional bail until then.
