SAINTS prop Alex Walmsley will miss the 'derby' against Wigan Warriors on Friday.

He has picked up a two-match suspension for Grade C Dangerous Contact in Friday's victory over Leeds Rhinos.

The ban starts from midnight tonight, so he would be available to face Salford if Kristian Woolf was minded to select him.

But he is also set to sit out the visit to Catalans Dragons on November 5, and then become available for selection again versus Hull on November 8.

The incident that has led to Walmsley's ban came in the 10th minute during contact with Leeds centre Alex Sutcliffe.

The Match Review Panel's notes on the decision say: "Defending player, in or after effecting a tackle, uses any part of their body forcefully to bend or apply unnecessary pressure to the head and/or spinal column of the tackled player so as to keep the tackled player at a disadvantage in or after the tackle."

The panel also considered a 'high tackle' by Walmsley on Luke Briscoe in the 28th minute of the same game.

No further action is being taken as it was a clash of heads.

Leeds prop Tom Holroyd was deemed to have committed an act of dangerous contact on Tommy Makinson in the second minute but has not been charged due to it being Grade A.
