WARRINGTON Wolves supporters are helping junior rugby league in the town get back on its feet again.

Hot on the heels of youngsters from our seven community clubs returning to action, the Warrington Wolves Supporters Trust’s Squadbuilder is offering grants to help that process continue.

Clubs' youth and junior sections can apply for a grant of up to £500 to be used to purchase rugby equipment or items to help them comply with Covid-19 guidelines.

A Squadbuilder statement read: “2020 has been such a difficult time for rugby league during the Covid 19 pandemic.

“We at Squadbuilder acknowledge the hard work of the Warrington Wolves Community Coaching team in supporting the Community clubs return to play programme.

“A lot of planning has gone into ensuring this happens safely under the strict RFL, government and council guidelines for the players, coaches, parents, officials and volunteers.

“It is part of our remit to support the development, coaching and promotion of young rugby players at all levels.

“We are delighted to be able to support the Community Clubs at this really difficult time.”

The deadline for applications is Monday, November 30 and the award of grants will be announced on Friday, December 11.
