A COCKTAIL and wine bar that opened just over a year ago has announced that it will close temporarily next weekend due to the change in coronavirus restrictions.

In September 2019, Bold Street House opened its doors in the former Window Dreams shop.

As well as being a spot for nights out, the bar doubles as a coffee shop by day and offers small artisan dishes in Warrington’s Cultural Quarter.

However like many businesses, they have struggled during the pandemic, leading to them making the announcement that next weekend, Saturday, October 31 and Sunday, November 1, will be their last week of trading until Warrington is out of Tier 3.

In a statement on their social media, they said: "We have made the very difficult decision that next weekend will be our last weekend of trading, not for ever, but just until Warrington is safely out of Tier 3.

"We have been overwhelmed with the support we have had and how busy we have been since reopening in July but after a very quiet 4 weeks, we have decided to play the long game and protect what we have for when we can trade fully again.

"Since the implementation of the new restrictions we have been trading between 40-80 per cent down on normal sales and we just can't risk another 4 weeks of that because more important than anything is protecting our amazing teams jobs.

"So...next weekend is happening.

"Get your table booked, remembering that you will need to order a few dishes of food each (we promise they are all delicious!), and come and help us drink the bar dry.

"We will continue to do take away cocktails and nibbles so we'll keep you posted! Thank you to everyone who has supported us so far, we'll be back soon, shaking and stirring our way through this crazy new normal"
