AN ITEM was hurled at the windscreen of a moving car on Tuesday evening, police say.
Police received a report of an "unknown item" being thrown and hitting the windscreen of a moving vehicle.
The item was thrown at a car travelling on Stoney Lane, Whiston towards Rainhill shortly before 8pm on Tuesday, October 20.
A report was made to police over the matter.
Officers have issued an appeal for information after the incident.

A Merseyside Police spokesman said: "We received a report that an item had been thrown at a moving car on Stoney Lane in Whiston just before 8pm on Tuesday, October.
"The unknown item struck the windscreen of a car travelling along Stoney lane in the direction of Rainhill.
"If you have any information on the incident or saw anyone acting suspiciously please DM @MerPolCC, call 101 quoting reference 993 of October 20 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
