A SHOPWORKER was threatened with a knife when a convenience store was raided by robbers.

Two masked men targeted the McColl’s on Admirals Road in Birchwood at around 6.30pm on Thursday, October 8.

One of the offenders brandished a knife at an employee and demanded that he open the till while the other grabbed its contents.

The pair then fled the scene with a ‘large quantity of cash’.

Cheshire Police’s enquiries into the incident are ongoing, and officers have issued CCTV footage of two men they wish to speak to in connection with the robbery.

Detective constable Darren Gibson said: “Understandably, the store worker was extremely shaken by the incident and we are working hard to find those responsible.

“As part of our enquiries, we have been looking through CCTV footage and we believe the males in this image may have important information to help the investigation.

“Although their faces are covered they are wearing distinctive clothing, and if you recognise them please get in touch.

“I would also encourage anyone who was in the area at the time and has information to please contact us.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact the force on 101, quoting incident number IML823257, or to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
