A LUCKY Penketh resident has brought home more than £3,500 after winning on the ITV quiz show, Tipping Point.

Liam Horsfield, 29, battled through various stages on the popular television show, presented by Ben Shephard, and managed to get to the final round.

In the show, four contestants answer general knowledge questions to win counters which they use on a large arcade-style machine.

Liam's winning moment, filmed last year, was finally broadcast on Wednesday.

"The episode was filmed back in May 2019 and was due to be aired June this year, but because of Covid-19 it was pushed back until October," Liam explained.

"It was a great experience, from getting the train down to Bristol, to arriving at the set and filming the episode.

"It really is a brilliant experience and would definitely recommended others to apply for the show.

"Overall, I won £3,550 in prize money and also two mystery prizes which were a 12-month flower subscription from Bloom and Wild and an overnight stay at Woburn Safari Park, with entry to the zoo and a VIP animal encounter."

Speaking about watching himself on television, Liam said: "It was surreal to start with - it's really not every day you're on TV is it!

"I watched it as it aired at 4pm with a bottle of champagne with my wife Danielle - that definitely isn’t something we do every day.

"Luckily it was much easier to watch because I did quite well in the end.

"It was a brilliant time to watch it with everything that is going on in the world and was a good pick-me-up for friends and family and a reason to celebrate."

Kerry Katona also appeared on Tipping Point: Lucky Stars on Sunday.

The former Atomic Kitten star from Warrington took home £1,000.

Meanwhile, comedian Jason Manford appeared on The Cube and donated his winnings to The Children's Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT) near Lymm.
